FleetServe is a division of a family of service companies with common ownership. A sister company, Autoserve, began operating a group of scheduling and automotive preventive maintenance facilities in 1980. Autoserve's facilities serviced both commercial and retail customers in high visibility suburban markets. Our experience with preventive maintenance began here. We have seen a multitude of evolutions in service on all types of vehicles.
During these years, we saw an increase in the number of commercial preventive maintenance customers at our service facilities. Fleet preventive maintenance then became a significant part of our core business. These customers revealed to us that the most challenging part of achieving a compliant level of fleet maintenance was getting the maintenance done without disrupting customer service and daily business operations. Tracking the vehicle's service documentation and condition were also problems that were brought to our attention. The time involved for customers to accomplish this left less time for them to focus on their core business.We began soliciting commercial businesses for our service centers on an afterhours schedule basis. Immediately we discovered a great demand for this service when it didn't conflict with the customers' daily business. We were also limited by geography as there is only so far a vehicle can be ferried round trip for preventive maintenance service.
In 1996, we acquired the assets and customers of a small on-site fleet service company that was not economically viable. We then implemented the significant aspects of our two core businesses and this became the nucleus for FleetServe L.L.C. We combined our extensive experience in preventive maintenance, our experience with multi-location and large corporations and our own fleet operation experience and created a comprehensive fleet preventive maintenance program. We designed this program to fit the needs of customers with 10 to over 8000 vehicles on one or more than 200 locations.
During this time we also became involved in maintaining oil and gas well service equipment. As our experience grew in this field and demand rose along with the market, this became a larger and larger part of our business until it became the core focus of our business. We currently service oil and gas well service equipment all over the U.S. for many of the largest well service providers in the business.
FleetServe continues to grow and provide successful professional and comprehensive on-site fleet preventive maintenance. Our prices are competitive and eliminate loss of utilities and wages associated with vehicle and employee downtime during regular business hours.
